The fifties, a period with fuzzy boundaries, as its starting point could be 1948 with the rebirth of the Salon des Arts Ménagers […], and it would fade away around 1963 or 1964 in favor of the emergence of a more luxurious and elitist design, a new art of living that was more hedonistic and less socially concerned, foreshadowing the 1970s.
