Friso Kramer was born in 1922 in Amsterdam.

He made Dutch design famous worldwide. It is said he is the Dutch Jean Prouvé. His furniture design promotes the industrial style with its use of metal.

From 1948 to 1953 he was employed by De Cirkel which specialized in metal furniture. In the fifties he joined the group “Goed Wonen” (Good Living) which which aimed at restoring the quality of life the country had lost with the war.

He designed the famous Revolt Chair in 1953 which according to him is the most important step in his career.
