Joseph André MOTTE (1925-2013) was a key figure of the 1950s. He created the ARP (Atelier de Recherche Plastique) along with Pierre Guariche et Michel Mortier. They focused on reinventing classical shapes by using the modern techniques.
He then worked with René-Jean Caillette, Geneviève Dangles et Alain Richard in the « Groupe 4 ».
He has designed many pieces for the French editor Steiner and some lamps for Disderot.
